Profiles in Oracle Apps

Profiles are just like settings that you can change to control the behavior of your EBS instance without any coding. These are just like global variables that you can use. For example, if you want to change the color scheme of your EBS instance you can simply change with the help of Profile Option (FND_COLOR_SCHEME)

Profiles are of two types:

• System Profiles: These are those profiles that are visible and updatable by only the system administrator, i.e. those users having access to System Administrator responsibility.

• User Profiles: These are those profiles that are visible and updatable by any other user of oracle instance.
