Disabling features in Oracle JDeveloper to improve the performance

Oracle JDeveloper has many features and updates which you may not be used for the current project. So, you can disable those extensions by using the following steps: Goto Tools menu and then click Features. Manage Features and Updates dialog will appear. Uncheck the features that you do not want for current application/project. You may enable it again for other projects. Like I have disabled the below-highlighted features.

Fix java.lang.OutOfMemory Java Heap Space error in JDeveloper

Why out-of-memory error is thrown? Permanent Generation: The Permanent Generation is where class files are kept. These are the result of compiled classes and JSP pages. If this space is full, it triggers a Full Garbage Collection. If the Full Garbage Collection cannot clean out old unreferenced classes and there is no room left to expand the Permanent Space, an Out‐of‐ Memory error (OOME) is thrown and the JVM will crash. There are three basic JVM command switches that control the amount of memory in the Java heap. -XX:Xms -XX:Xmx -XX:MaxPermSize -XX:Xms used to set memory available to JVM initially. -XX:Xms used to set maximum amount of memory into which the JVM can grow . -XX:MaxPermSize are used to set size for Permanent Generation. How to create List Of Values (LOV) using Common Lookup in BIP ESS Job in Oracle Fusion?

For this post we will be creating a new Common Lookup Type and then attaching that to a parameter of BIP ESS Job which we had already defined. Go to Manage Common Lookup screen and create a new lookup with below lookup type and values: Now create a new List of Values source with the below information List of Values Source Definition Name will be: oracle.apps.fnd.applcore.lookups.model.publicView.CommonLookupPVO Now edit the parameter of the ess job and select the Page Element as List of Values, List of Values Source as INV_SRC1 (the name which we had given to LOV), Attribute as LookupCode and Selected Attribute as Meaning and then click on Save and Close Once done click on Manage Dependencies icon after selecting the parameter row.
